Natale è ormai alle porte. solo 20 giorni ci separano da questo magico momento.
giorno in cui non si festeggia piu la nascita del bambino, ma l'arrivo di babbo natale ( che amarezza!), piu che una festa è diventata una corsa a premio, vince chi prima riesce a comprare piu regali possibili ( e possibilmente inutili) a prezzo stracciato. c'è gente che non dorme la notte per pensare cosa regalare a chi, altri si anticipano il lavoro comprando mesi e mesi prima, poi ci sono sempre gli irriducibili, cioè quelli che ci pensano 11 mesi e 20 giorni all anno per poi trovare l'illuminazione solo 1 settimana prima.
io mi rivolgo queste persone, questo topic è per loro, per aiutarli a fare la scelta piu mirata in fatto di regali di natale.
Cari lettori non vi riducete all ultimo giorno per poi comprare un paio di ciabatte, o il classico pigiama di pile, non bisogna essere ricchi per fare un bel regalo, basta che regaliate quello che piace alla persona a cui lo state donando...e soprattutto che lo regaliate col cuore.
E voi popolo del forum, come vi state preparando? cosa farete? come siamo messi a regali
insomma fateci sapere i fatti vostri e soprattutto si accettano classifiche dei regali piu inutili che avete ricevuto durante gli anni.

it has become a day where we dont celebrate christ coming in the world any more, but more a santa coming down from the chimney day!
more than a celebration has become a raffle game, wins who's first and faster can get as many (and cheapest) presents to give to whoever they know (even to the cleaner at their kid's school, cos after all it's christmas and we are all good , nevermind if you know the person,)
there are people not sleeping at night to think about what to buy, others do the job months and months earlier. then there are always those who think about what to give for xmas like 11 months and 20 days a year to then come out with something last few days.
i m talking to these people, this post its for them, to help choose the right gift this xmas.
Dear readers, dont just come out with some useless idea the day before xmas to then buy them lousy sleepers, or the same old pijama.
you dont need to be rich to make great presents, you just need to listen to the people you gonna give ur gift to, a little more, then you will know for sure that what u are buying is what they like...but most important of all is that you give it with all your heart.
And you forum, how are you getting things prepared? have you set up you tree? and presents? let us know ur business and dont be ashamed to share a list of the most useless gift u recived along the years.

Io non mi metto a fare regali a destra e a manca, anzi quando iniziano a circolare le cose natalizie (a ottobre gia ) io comincio a sbuffare 
Quest'anno gli unici regali, gia fatti in quanto il bisogno era imminente, li ho fatti ai miei due nipoti: pc portatile (era rotto) e telefono (era rotto) quindi il mio dovere è fatto!
In casa non è tradizione mettere addobbi ma per fortuna c'è mio fratello che porta l'albero con i led e un po' di allegria la mette (insieme ai nipoti che fanno casino).
Dunque cari lettori, il padrino vi augura buone feste!

To me Christmas is still very much a time when families should come together. However since I moved to Britain I can't say that I find the true spirit of Christmas is appreciated here.
SO...I try my bit and do what I can with my close family, parents (since the rest of cousins and uncles don't live here). Regarding presents, I try to give the people I love and care about presents that are meaningful, that i know they need or like. I dont give a present just for the sake of it. Over here people like to give presents that are quite often useless or they like to show they have money and give expensive presents that end up spoiling adults and children. I must say I miss the time when i lookked forward to have a present, just one, even if that was a pen with several colours. Nowadays, kids get so spoiled that they wont even remember all the presents they were given. Its one toy now and another toy two seconds later and so on and so on. The appreciation, the true expectation of a present seems to be gone in this modern society. Modern society where adults and children all over the world are still having to go through extreme poverty, hunger, diseases, bad care and desperate times. In the UK we just had the Black Friday - a Friday when most shops sells certain articles a little bit cheaper. You should have seen the queues in the shops. The websites crashed, the country went black :-D but hey the iPads 3 4 5 6 or version 1234,they were being sold apparently, those were the reason the sites crashed. Probably with families of four, on state benefits, byuing four iPads, 1 for each one of them, or maybe 2 each, who knows. The lovely nowadays society of often rotten people and rotten values. Bring the socks, the knickers and the pyjamas back, that's what I say. And then...then get the families together and try something really really different....Love them.

Excellent, excellent post and comments, Pe and Donde. Very well said.....I couldn't agree more! Christmas, sadly, like our self obsessed, selfie society, has de-evolved into getting, getting, getting, with stores setting up Christmas displays even before Halloween! Very fitting as the spirit of greed/consumerism is now no longer even bothering to hide behind the mask of "proving your love by buying the most gifts" when at the core, what people really need is the gift of love...the gift God gave by bringing his Son into the world...and still gives today when one invites Him into ones heart. It's so true today what the song says, that ' What the world needs now is love, sweet love'....and John and Paul had it right in proclaiming "All You Need is Love.". As a society, we've become so enamored of technology which enables us to quite literally communicate with anyone, any time, anywhere in the world, that we have forgotten the importance of taking the time to talk to the person next door....or the person standing right next to you!
I love the video with the penguin you included in your comments, Donde. It's perfect! ...esp. considering that penguins mate for life...so perfect illustration of where our focus needs to be.
I am wholeheartedly with you, Donde....let's bring back the sleepers, the knickers, ....and while we're at it, the carolling the raostinf of chestnuts and hot cocoa :-) ....and lets get back to the true spirit of Christmas....back to what we all need.....the greatest gift we can either give or receive...the gift of time, attention, listening, laughter....love...and in so doing experience Christmas miracles every single day.

What u wrote is totally true donde;-)
I do prefer to recive a pijiama from the person i love (or even just sometime to spend with and no presents)and know that it been choosen and bought with the heart, that was the meaning of my post.
I mentioned sleepers and pijiamas cos in italy they only seem to give this when they are out of ideas, and have to buy a present to god knows who:-D
I ve recently read about an american mum that has cancel the christmas day for her kids cos they were being too mean and spoiled..she recived many many bad critics...i actually agree with her.
1) its her kids
2) if they dont understand this now, when will they ever understand that its not material things that matters.. -

Ho gi? avuto modo di scriverlo nell'altro forum: io credo ancora a Babbo Natale, credo nella magia di questo momento, credo......
Per tutto l'anno siamo di fretta, ci confrontiamo con i tanti problemi quotidiani, facciamo fatica a dedicarci 1 minuto a noi stessi o alle persone che amiamo. Questo è il momento di tirare il freno a mano, di fermarsi, di pregare (per chi ci crede), di dedicarsi a se stessi per essere poi capaci di dedicarsi anche ai nostri cari. Io ci provo quantomeno. Per questo non amo la corsa folle ai regali per comprare qualsiasi cosa sia, pur di spendere poco. Mi piace essere accanto agli amici, mi piace dire loro quanto sono importanti per me. Mi piace privarmi di qualcosa pur di poter dare loro un segnale del mio affetto.
Come dice Pè, il regalo per una persona che amo, lo posso pure comprare a Pasqua o ferragosto. Ma so che è proprio per quella persona, non è preso a caso.
Il Natale deve essere un pò magico, altrimenti che Natale è? Avete mai osservato gli occhi di un bimbo quando si alza e vede che Babbo Natale ha mangiato i biscotti che erano stati lasciati la sera prima? Ci vuole poco per fare in modo che il Natale abbia un valore.

ed eccomi che finalmente, al novantesimo, rispondo a questo post anche se è difficilissimo dopo le bellissime parole che avete gi? scritto e soprattutto quelle di Gil che condivido in pieno.
Infatti, in questi giorni mi sono ripromessa di soffermarmi un attimo a riflettere e a guardarmi intorno, per capire che molte delle cose per cui corriamo tutto l'anno, ci facciamo del sangue marcio, ci arrabbiamo ecc. alla fine - come direbbe Vasco - sono solo fesserie.
